CMT bleibt bei dieser neuen Veröffentlichung ihrem
„Spliced Take“-Konzept treu, obwohl es sich um ein eigenständiges Album
handelt.
Bei der Bearbeitung dieses Albums haben sie alle Songs so gestaltet,
dass sie „ineinander übergehen“, sodass Sie das Gefühl haben, als wären Sie in
der eigentlichen Session ohne Pausen.
Alle Titel der „Stax Sessions“ sind in
diesem 2-CD-Set enthalten.
Einer der Höhepunkte ist eine atemberaubende Version von „Sweet Angeline“, die ein längeres Intro und eine Instrumentalpause mit Kathy Westmoreland hat.
Weitere Must-haves sind längere Intros für „Just A Little Bit“ und „I Got A Feeling in My Body“ und ein neues Ende für „It’s Midnight“.
Die Proben gehen direkt in die Songs über und es gibt einige lustige Abschnitte dazwischengemischt.
